JUNIOR BLUE & FORMULA BLUE PRESTIGIOUS NUMBERS FOR 2023

In what has been the ‘best’ year for the NKRA Championships in many years ( with registrations up by 17%), competition for the Prestigious Numbers in Junior & Formula BLUE has been very fierce.

With the National Kart Racing Association Grande Finals now over ( though the results are still provisional and not final until 12th September) the positions for these prestigious numbers can now be provisionally declared. These are achieved by adding together the points ( positions) scored in both the Regional Championship and the Grande Final.
In the Junior BLUE Class, Sam Mitchell, with a total of 2 points ( 2 points for coming 2nd in the regionals and 0 points for winning the Grande Finals), retained his number 1 Plate. Rhys Read achieved the No. 2 plate ( with a win in the Regionals and a 3rd position in the Grande Finals, giving a total of 3 points). Jamie Bradfield takes the number 3 plate with 5 points (3rd in the regionals and 2nd in the Grande Finals).
In the Senior Formula BLUE class, Anthony Cleal won the Grande Finals to secure his lead from the Regionals and retained his Number 1 plate.
Mike Bell who was placed 2nd in the Regionals finished 3rd in the Grande Finals to achieve 2nd overall and thereby secured the Number 2 plate. Tom Parker backed up his 3rd place in the Grande Finals to finish 3rd overall and was some 4 points ahead of Steve Groves in 4th, with David Waldron , who had consigned 2021 to memory in 5th.
When entering for the next Two Counties Club round at Forest Edge, drivers are reminded to enter under their new numbers, which are valid until the NKRA Grande Finals in 2023.
The NKRA offers congratulations to all the successful competitors, after the culmination of a hard year’s racing, filled with both ecstatic moments along with disappointments.
Competitors are reminded that their official ‘Number Plates’ will be awarded, along with a ‘mass’ of other trophies and awards at the Presentation Evening scheduled for Saturday 26th November ( tickets are now available). What a way to conclude the 30th Anniversary of NKRA competitions!
