MITCHELL & FOSTER TAKE OVERALL WINS IN THE JUNIOR & SENIOR CLASSES AT ROUND 4 OF THE NKRA BLUE CHALLENGE

Pole and 2nd in the Final were enough to give Sam Mitchell the overall win in Junior Blue Round 4 of the NKRA Blue Challenge at the Clay Pigeon Raceway on March 8th. Rhys Read, who won the Final but started on grid 3, takes 2nd overall with Jamie Bradfield 3rd on 5 points.
In the seniors, Anth Cleal, who had secured P1, decided discretion was the better part of valor, when on the opening lap of the Final he realised his brake pedal was suspect and withdrew from the race. Joey Foster did not need an invitation and immediately forged into a lead he held to the chequered flag, scoring 2 points and the overall win. 2nd with a 4th place start and 2nd on the track was Paul Alexander. Ben Joseph claimed 3rd overall, 1 point ahead of Taylor Waldron. A revitalised Robin Stoddart-Stones not only finished 5th overall but did so whilst running extremely rich on his carburation.
In the Series standings, it is Foster who heads the rest, albeit only by 2 points from Cleal and Dave Watts. 4th is Mike Bell with Nigel Vickery in 5th spot.
Cleal leads the Master sub-group from Foster, Vickery, Alexander and David Waldron.
Cleal also fronts the Veteran section from Vickery, Alexander, Waldron and Chris Underhill.
A front-row start and win keeps Underhill comfortably in the lead of the Blue Legends. Chris Lord holds the 2nd spot from David Goode in 3rd. Ron Shone sits in 4th position a mere point ahead of Robin Stoddart-Stones in 5th.
The withdrawal ( with rib damage) of the new sensation Tom Parker, in the Blue Top Weight section, left the way open for Ben Joseph to mop-up. Despite this Parker stays up in 2nd place, just ahead of Phil Shears, Ron Shone and Rob Mortimore .
The Championship contenders now have a 5-week break before the 2nd half of the Championship, which returns to the Clay Pigeon Raceway on 12th June.
