WHEELER, McLEOD & GOODE WIN OPENING ROUND OF THE S & B AUTOMOTIVE ACADEMY BLUE CHALLENGE
Martin Wheeler by virtue of his opposite pole start and win , in Round 1 of the S & B Automotive Academy Formula Blue Challenge, takes the lead in the National Challenge.
His tremendous return to form, aided by the correct choice of wet tyres in slippery conditions, signaled to the rest of the grid his intention for 2018. Second on the day, was Duncan McLeod, only 1 point behind, following his pole and 3rd place scoreline. It is McLeod, however, who fronts the Master, Veteran and Top Weight sections with minimum scores.
Former Champion, Anth Cleal, is second to McLeod in both Master and Veteran sections but it is Duncan McLeod’s son, Mitch, who chased his father home in the Top weight group.
The Legend sub-class was won by David Goode followed home by Keith Hutton.
The second round of the S & B Automotive Academy Challenge, which also incorporates the NKRA ‘0’ plate race for Formula Blue, Blue Master, Blue Veteran and Blue Legend & Blue Top Weight takes place at Forest Edge on April 1st.
Drivers are reminded that their ( correctly paid for) entry must be submitted by 24th March to be eligible for the free tyre draw.
