MIKE BELL IS THE 2027 TWO COUNTIES CLUB CHAMPION
At last, Mike Bell was able to show his true potential. In the most atrocious of conditions with horizontal rain and gale force winds thrown into the mix, Bell finally managed a meeting without mechanical issues.
He secured pole position from where he steadily drove away from the opposition. Max Gunter put up a serious challenge but in his efforts to stay in touch, had a few ‘offs’! The last one, of which cost him 2nd place, to Jeff Ellis, who had spent the Final well within touching distance.
Once the points were totalled, Bell emerged as Club champion from Nigel Vickery. Russell O’Neill, who had been in a clear lead, finished in 3rd place, by virtue of his non-attendance.
In the Master sub-group it was Bell who again emerged as Championn from Vickery and O’Neill.
Vickery, however, cleaned up in the Veteran sub-class with a clean win over Ron Shone and Kevin O’Neill.
Shone did manage to win the Legend sub-section from O’Neill and Waldron.
The Top Weight sub-group was also claimed by Shone who took the title on drop option count back.
Danny Elson, claimed an unapposed win in the Junior Blue Class.
