McLeod Magic is back !

Posted on by Julie

A flawless performance by Duncan McLeod at round 5 of the S & B Automotive Academy Blue challenge saw him extend his lead in the overall championship standings.  His son, Mitch, came 3rd in the Final but claimed 2nd overall on the day ahead of Jake Calvert who took 3rd overall.
In the Master & Veteran sub-groups, Duncan also heads the list ,  though it is Anth Cleal who is the challenger, followed by Rob Mortimore.  David Goode finished 2nd on the track in the Blue Legend section, but it was enough to see off the challenge of Ron Shone,  who remains in 2nd spot, overall.   Keith Hutton follows these two, in 3rd place.
In the Top Weight section, Duncan is also firmly placed at the top of the classifications.  Mitch McLeod is the racer pressing in 2nd spot with Ben Pearson moving up into 3rd overall.
The next round is scheduled for the 24th June at Mansell Raceway.

NKRA -SOUTH -ROUND 3 AT CLAY PIGEON ON MAY 13th

Posted on by Julie

The weather was warm and fine for the Southern NKRA Round at Clay Pigeon on May 13th.  The round also coincided with the Wessex Championship.
Ben Crossley won an unopposed Cadet IAME race,  whilst in Cadet Honda,  Maksy Solarski took minimum points to close him up to within 2 points of the leaders.  Despite finishing 2nd overall, Colin Wazny maintains his Championship lead.

Macieu Hamera and Ollie Tyler shared the points in Mini-Max, though it is Hamera who holds a small advantage over  Tyler in the Series.
In the well-subscribed Formula Blue class, it was Jake Calvert who won the day from Duncan McLeod, with James Rees in 3rd spot.  As a consequence, Calvert extends his lead with McLeod and Ben Pearson moving up into 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

The next Championship round is on 24th June at Mansell Raceway in Devon.

CALVERT TAKES BACK TO BACK VICTORIES IN THE S & B AUTOMOTIVE BLUE CHALLENGE

Posted on by Julie

Jake Calvert takes back to back wins in Rounds 3 & 4 of the S & B Automotive Academy Formula Blue Challenge.  His Pole to flag win reinforced his victory, a few weeks earlier,  at Mansell Raceway.   Second on the Day was Duncan McLeod with opposite pole and 2nd set of points.  Third on the weekend was James Rees scoring 7 points with 7th on the grid and 3rd on the track.  Notable by his absence was Martin Wheeler, who, as a consequence, dropped 20 places in the overall positions.  After the weekend’s racing, it is Duncan McLeod who is the new leader from Ben Pearson, with Mitch McLeod in 3rd.  Anth Cleal moves up 2 places to 4th followed by Toby Cook.
In the Masters and Veteran sub groups, Duncan McLeod leads from Cleal and Rob Mortimore.
Despite being absent ( in Germany),  David Goode hands on to the lead in the Legend section by virtue of his drop option.  Robin Stoddart-Stones, enjoying a bit of rejuvenation,  moves up to 2nd from Ron Shone,  who is enduring the worst start to a season ever!
In the Top Weight group, Duncan McLeod has wrestled the lead away from son Mitchell with Calvert closing the duo down.
The Challenge moves on to Little Rissington for Round 5 on June 3rd.
