NKRA SOUTHERN REGION – 2018 Final Results & placings
11.07.18
At the extremely hot weekend at Clay Pigeon Raceway on July 8th, the final placings were established.
In Cadet Honda, Colin Wazny and David Aulejtner came into this last round on equal points. Although it was Maksymilian Solarski who won the day, it was Wazny, by finishing ahead of Aulejtner, who took the title.
Ben Crossley was, once again unopposed in the Cadet IAME to take the class title.
In Minimax, Ollie Tyler sealed the Championship win from Maciej Hamera.
It was all change in formula Blue… a stunning display by Duncan McLeod, at this last round, allowed him to wrest the title away from Jake Calver, who lead going into the weekend. A similar brilliant drive from Anthony Cleal moved him up into 3rd spot, beating Ben Pearson by only 1 point. Toby Cook, who finished 3rd on the day, finished 5th overall with Russell O’Neill capturing the last series trophy in 6th spot.
William Robers, by virtue of a no-show of his fellow competitors, took the Rotax Max title.
The Grande Finals for Cadet Honda and Formula Blue take place at the Clay Pigeon circuit on the weekend of September 8 & 9th.

McLeod Maintains Momentum
10.07.18An impressive set of race results by Duncan McLeod at the penultimate S & B Automotive Blue Challenge Round helped him to maintain his grip on the Series. It was not an easy affair as he turned his pole position in the Final into the lead. During the spectacular 22 lap race ( in sweltering hot conditions) at the Clay Pigeon Raceway he was harassed all the way by Anth Cleal ( who recorded the fasted time in the Final). Behind, Toby Cook sat, hoping for an incident between the front two, thereby allowing him to take the results ! As a consequence to this result , Duncan McLeod continues to head the list, but Anth Cleal moves up to 2nd overall. Jake Calvert remains in 3rd place , but Mitch McLeod slips to 4th place, just ahead of Toby Cook.
In the Master and Veteran groups, Duncan McLeod sits in the lead from Anth Cleal and Paul Dible.
Despite losing grid position in the Legends section, David Goode swept to the front of the race and thereby stayed 4 points ahead of Ron Shone, with one round to go.
In the Top weight sub-group, the all conquering Duncan McLeod forged further into the overall lead. Behind him Mitch McLeod remains in 2nd place, though Ben Pearson is closing him down.
The Final Round takes place at Forest Edge on the weekend of 5th August.
