After 5 months of competitive racing the S & B Blue Academy Blue Challenge came to its climax, the last round at Forest Edge on July 5^th.  As the racers arrived to ‘set-up camp’ on the Friday, things couldn’t be tighter !

Kevin Ford takes the opening 2 Counties Championship Round, by storm,  at Mansell Raceway.  His pole position and Final Win gave him minimum points in the Formula Blue Class, plus the lead in the Mater and Veteran sections.
Luke Lattimer, fresh up from Junior Blue, claimed 2nd overall.  whilst the No.2 plated Martin Wheeler, having secured opposite pole, chose slicks instead of wets and struggled in the slippery conditions.  Ron Shone (Veteran) came 3rd overall despite being harried by Rob Mortimore for the latter part of the Final.
Round 2 of the Championship is scheduled for September 13th at the Clay Pigeon Circuit.
