FOSTER & GUNTER SHARE THE WIN AT WHILTON MILL
Max Gunter and Joey Foster shared the win at Round 2 of the NKRA BLUE CHALLENGE held at Whilton Mill on May 31st. Foster won the Final but started 7th on the grid. Gunter started on Pole and finished 7th thereby equaling Foster’s points. 3rd overall was Stuart Gray on 9 points with a 3rd place start and 6th position finish. The 4th set of points were gained by Phil WaterS with 5th on the grid and 5th on the track, Ant Leigh achievied a 6th start and a 4th finish, both scoring 10 points each. Gray maintains his lead in the championship with the minimum of Zero scored points. Mike Bell qualified opposite pole but had an electrical problem in the Final and finished 14th. Despite this he sits in 2nd place in the
championship with 6 points carried forward from round 1 at Lydd. Foster climbs up into 3rd place on 7 points followed by Gunter, also on 7 points. Nigel Vickery had a solid mid-field race day and holds 5th place on 8 points.
Gunter finished 1st in the Master sub-class, thereby moving up to 4th overall. Foster finished 2nd and moves up to 3rd in in the Champs. Gray came in 5th in the Final but maintains his lead in the sub-class. Water and Leigh shared 4th place on the day. In the champiobnship Bell remains in 2nd overall behind Gray , with Foster 3rd, Gunter 4th and Vickery 5th.
In the Veteran section it was a Gray show, with a pole and win to his name. Nigel Vickery kept his early challenge up with 2nd place. Ron Shone and Mark Ellis shared 3rd place with 7 points apiece. Graham Joseph ended the day in 5th.
A similar story for the Legend group, with Gray taking a dominant win. Shone and Mark Ellis share 2nd spot with Joseph coming 4th.
Tom Parker and Gunter ended the day in equal 1st spot in the Top Weight sub-class on 3 points each, they were hotly persued by Phil Waters, who finished 1 point adrift . Ron Shone came home a distant 4th. Waters leads the Championship fron Gunter, Parker, Leanne McShane and Shone.

In the Junior BLUE grid, Danny Elson, the ‘O’ Plate winner, took pole from Harley Drake. It was Drake however, who snatched the win for the pair to share the meetings’ points. Elson remains in the championship lead from Drake.
