GUNTER & ELLISS SHARE WIN AT CLAY PIGEON
Max Gunter and Jeff Elliss shared the points win at Clay Pigeon, in the Two Counties Club Champs, on 26th September. Novice Jacob Heyne-Ford finished a very strong 3rd. Mike Bell kept his ‘act’ together and finished 4th. Nigel Vickery, Ron Shone and Kevin O’Neill achieved an equal number of points to share 5th place.
Russell O’Neill, missing from this meeting, managed to maintain his lead by virtue of an excellent drop option score. He stays in the lead from Bell, Vickery, Shone and Gunter.
With a pole to flag win, Gunter takes 1st place in the Master sub-group. Bell takes up 2nd spot, with Vickery, Shone and Kevin O’Neill taking 3rd on equal points. Russell O’Neill stays in 1st place overall with Bell, Vickery, Shone and Gunter completing the top five.
Vickery and K. O’Neill shared the win in the Veteran sub-group, with Shone in 3rd, one point adrift. Vickery also leads in the Championship standings from Shone, K. O’Neill and David Waldron.
In the Legends sub-class, Shone and K. O’Neill finished equal 1st on two points apiece. This leaves Shone in the overall lead from K. O’Neill and Waldron.
Shone took an unoposed win in the Top Weight sub-group, leaving him well clear in the lead.
The last round of the Two Counties Championship takes place at the Clay PIgeon Raceway on Saturday October 24th. This meeting also includes the Mattew Percy Memorial Trophy race.
Afterwards, the Club presentation evening will take place in the Clay Pigeon Hospitality Suite, to which all winners must be present to receive their awards.
