INDY BLUE TnT PRIZE FUND – CHANGES & ADDITIONS

Posted on by Julie

Following feedback from racers and taking into account the projected economic climate, there will be a revision/addition to the INDY BLUE TnT prize fund.
Drivers have indicated that in the current economic circumstances, that even if winning a holiday or short break, they would possibly not be able to enjoy the prize. Therefore, without altering the ‘up to £5000’ holiday prizes from Torster Travel, we have secured the option of ‘up to £2,500’ karting spares vouchers with TABOR KARTING.
The Torster Travel prize fund will remain unaltered, however, drivers winning in the racing competition can now opt, instead, for TABOR KARTING Formula BLUE spares vouches of 50% of the value of the initial win. This does not demean the status of quality of the Torster Travel holidays / Breaks or experience days, but allows competitors to choose, an extra boost in funds towards their racing in Formula BLUE in 2025, or having a holiday.
We would like to thank TABOR KARTING for their continued financial support for Formula BLUE especially at short notice.
Competitors are reminded that entries remain open until Wednesday 18th September, as per host organisation regulations, Thereafter entries will not be accepted.
All entrants must be already registered with the NKRA and late entries will start on the back of the grid for the heats ( only), as per NKRA / Indy Blue regulations. Competitors are reminded that they have the options of Sunday only race, Saturday practice and Sunday race or Friday and Saturday practice along with a Sunday Race.

FOSTER & FELTON ARE THE NEW NUMBER 1’S

Posted on by Julie

JUNIOR BLUE AND FORMULA BLUE PRESTIGIOUS NUMBERS FOR 2025

Once again a fantastic year for Formula BLUE with 36 competitors chasing 19 places. In Junior BLUE Jacob Felton won the BLUE Challenge, the NKRA ‘O’ PLATE, The NKRA Grande Finals and is now the new number ONE ! Congratulations are indeed appropriate.

FORMULA BLUE went down to the Grande Finals where the reigning Champion, Anthony Cleal , had to withdraw on the day due to a serious family medical situation. This opened the ‘field’ up and the main challenger Joey Foster, by virtue of minimum points at the Grade Finals, claimed the coveted number 1 plate. Harry Smithson finally put his reliability issues behind him and had a great Grande Final finishing 2nd which in turn gave him the number 2 plate. Callum Jobson, in his first full year in Formula BLUE narrowly beat Stuart Gray thereby completing the podium with number number 3. Gray claims the number 4 plate with Max Gunter the 5 plate.
Cleal , despite being unable to compete in the Grande Finals, had accrued enough points throughout the year to take the number 6 plate. Another stunning performance in 2024 was Alex Fortune who finishes with number 7. Steve Groves was plagued through the year with engine issues, yet still manages number 8. Alex Kemp continues on his forward projection, moving up one place to number 9. Leanne McShane, another of the ‘Cornwall pirates’ brings up the top ten. James Dawkins, who is no doubt one of the fastest on the race track, was also plagued by a series of issues, the least of which was incorrectly declaring an I/D number on his Grande Final scrutineering card, he finished on number 11 plate. Another ‘Cornwall Pirate’ Anthony Leigh comes in with number 12, narrowly ahead of David Waldron who lost a bucket full of points by oiling up at the start of the Final in the Grande Finals. Richard Puddle missed many of the scoring Regional Rounds but by virtue of 2nd Place in the Grande Finals still achieved a ‘number’, namely number 14. Ron Shone hangs on to number 15 mainly by attendance and reliability!
Rob Mortimore slips down the order to number 16, having had to start near the rear of the Final and only just managing to clear the dummy grid before it closed. Dean Smithers, after a weak start to the year, came good in the latter part of the season, he is one to watch out for next year. Graham Joseph was one of the stars of the 2024, starting at the rear of the heats for most of the season, yet still claiming number 18. The last of the prestigious numbers goes to Mike Bell, who also missed a few rounds early in the year due to family medical issues. In the words of ‘Arny’ he’ll be back !!
Competitors are advised that they now have 7 days ( Sept 9th) inorder to contest these results, after which they become final and in use until after the Grande Finals next year. As such, competitors will be using their new numbers at the first of the INDYBLUE TnT Championship rounds at LLandow race circuit on Sept 22nd.

For more details of the Presitigous number scores PLEASE CLICK HERE or go to the Formula Blue menu page on the www.planetkarting.uk website.
Competitors are reminded that their official ‘ number plates will be awarded, along with a ‘mass’ of other trophies and awards at the Presentation Evening on Saturday November 30th.
