A stunning entry of 29 competitors made for an exciting opening round of the National Kart Racing Association 2024 Championship.
In the Junior BLUE Class, newbie Jacob Felton took the honours with a pole to flag win. He and the reigning champion, Alfie Lenton spent the whole day only centimeters apart!
In the Formula BLUE Class, Anth Cleal, the number one, shared the points with returnee ‘former Junior BLUE Racer’ James Dawkins. Like the Junior BLUE front two, they matched each other throughout the day. Third equal were Rich Puddle and Joey Foster. Steve Groves with 11 points finished in 5th spot.
These front five finished in exactly the same places in the BLUE Master sub-class.
In the BLUE Veteran sub-section, Cleal claimed the outright lead with a minimum zero points score. Groves on 4 points heads the chasing pack, followed by Rob Mortimore on 7 points. Behind them, Robin Stoddart-Stones, David Goode and Phil Shears share 4th place on 11 points.
Stoddart-Stones sits in the lead of the BLUE Legend group with 3 points. David Goode and Stuart Gray are only 1 point adrift. Ron Shone and Graham Joseph bring up 4th and 5th placings.
Alex Fortune, new to the Top Weight sub-class, leads with a minimum Zero points tally. Mortimore, Dean Smithers, Phil Shears and Shone complete the front five.
Kyle Broad leads in an unopposed position in the Rotax Max Class.

Racers now have 3 weeks to set themselves up before Round 2, scheduled for April 21st at Fulbeck, which becomes the first actual scoring round.

Competitors are advised, that entries are now open for the NKRA CHAMPIONSHIP Round 2 , on 21st April 2024, at the Fulbeck Kart Circuit.
There will be practice for those who wish, on Saturday the 20th April.

Following a 4-month winter break, the start of the new look IKR National Kart Racing Championship for 2024 is almost upon us. With only 7 days remaining until the official NKRA closing date , entries are now coming in, with only 10 places still available for Formula BLUE.
Dunkeswell, will be the host club for round 1 ( on the 31st March). Entries can be taken by Dunkeswell Kart Club on-line, in the normal manner, or by clicking the link at the foot of this news brief.
PLEASE NOTE: All drivers entering NKRA classes must be fully paid up and registered for the NKRA Championship to be eligible to race at this event.

The NKRA welcomes Formula BLUE newbie Joe Joseph and returnee James Dawkins to the 2024 Championship, as 3rd & 4th Reserve respectively. The first NKRA Championship meeting of the season kicks off at Dunkeswell Raceway on 31st March.
