NKRA GRANDE FINALS 2022 – Additional Supplementary Regulations for this event.
10.08.22NKRA GRANDE FINALS 2022 – Additional Supplementary Regulations
On the 4th of September – at the Forest Edge Circuit
Additional (1) Supplementary Regulations for NKRA Grande Final Competitors in the Junior Blue and Formula Blue Classes .
*To complement post-race scrutineering and to ensure compliance with the requirement for Marked Parts and Sequential Numbering, a Formula Blue specific additional Scrutineering Card will be issued, where the sequentially numbered parts must be listed against the engine(s) in use.
The sequentially numbered parts are:
CLUTCH DRUM; CLUTCH; CYLINDER; PISTON; IGNITION (ROTOR & STATOR); ECU;
This will be extra to the standard scrutineering procedure, as performed the host club and must be presented to the designated ( on the day) NKRA assistant before the start of the heats ( i.e. pre. Race). If during the meeting the sequentially marked parts change (eg: a clutch change) the designated NKRA assistant must be informed. ( eg: Go see the nominated NKRA assistant and log the changed details)
The Carburettor, although marked & sequentially numbered will not be included in the above.
In the event of the scrutineer requiring sight of sequential marking and numbering, it is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that the markings are visible. In the case of the Piston head (if a carbon-producing oil is used), the competitor will be allowed to scrape any carbon deposit off to reveal the official marking and numbering.
The cards will be available from TABOR on the weekend of the race meeting.

TWO COUNTIES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 2, at FOREST EDGE ON AUGUST 7th
09.08.22Newly registered Devon Giles takes an uncontested win in the Cadet Honda Class.
The reigning Club Champion from 2021 in Junior Blue, Sam Mitchell, stated his intent to retain his title with a pole to flag win, Rhys Read and Jamie Bradfield shared 2nd place points, though it was Read who recorded the fastest lap in the Final. Mitchell takes the Championship lead with Read in second, 2 points adrift and Bradfield in 3rd.
Joey Foster stamped his authority on the proceedings with his own version of a lights to flag win. He was, however, harried by Anth Cleal right up to the chequered flag ! In the day’s results, Foster won with zero points. Cleal and Kieran Quirke share the second spot with 6 points. Mike Bell came 4th following an opposite pole start and a 6th finish. 5th on the day was Kevin O’neill on 10 points. In the Championship standing, Foster sits in the lead with zero points, followed by bell on 2 points. Cleal takes up 3rd place on equal points with Quirke, but separated by a better drop option. O’Neill makes up the front five on 10 points.
Foster also took the day in the Blue Master sub-group from Cleal, O’Neill, Paul Alexander and Steve Groves.
Cleal won the Veteran section, from O’Neill, Alexander, Groves and Dave Waldron. Cleal also leads the Championship from O’Neill, Alexander, Groves and Chris Underhill.
In the Blue Legend sub-class, O’Neill took a clean sweep of points. Behind were Underhill, David Goode, Ron Shone and Mark Cook. O’Neill leads the standings followed by Underhill, Shone, Goode and John Hartshorne.
Tom Parker won the Top Weight sub-group with 2 points from Shone on 3 points and Rob Mortimore on 5 points. It is Mortimore, however, who stays in the Championship lead by virtue of a better drop option from Parker. Shone slips to 3rd, Phil shears to 4th and Paul Dible to 5th.
The Two Counties Championship now has a two-month break before round 3, whilst the Junior and Senior Formula Blue grids concentrate on their Grande Finals at the Forest edge Club on September 4th.

NKRA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP NOW OVER WITH GILES, READ, CLEAL, UNDERHILL & PARKER VICTORIOUS IN THEIR VARIOUS CATEGORIES.
12.07.22Having achieved Pole for the Final, Rhys Read could not be caught in the Regional Championship, barring an exclusion ( which meant the result could not be dropped). So, following specific team instructions to avoid any potential incident he circulated clear of other competitors. This policy , no doubt, was aided by knocking off his plug cap ! The day was won by Jamie Bradfield on 2 points with Read 2nd on 6 points.
In the Championship, it is Read who takes the win from Sam Mitchell , then Bradfield.
The Formula Blue class was decimated by non-attendees suffering from Covid-associated issues. This particularly affected Mike Bell, the only driver realistically capable of wrestling the Championship away from Anthony Cleal. On the day, where coincidentally, much of the grid was sidelined with electrical problems of one form or another, it was Cleal who with a lights to flag win, won on Zero points. Equal 2nd with 7 points were Sylvain Vessier and Tom Parker.
In the Master section, it was Cleal who took the win with Zero points. Behind him Nigel Vickery and David Waldron shared 2nd spot with 6 points apiece. The championship win goes to Cleal with Vickery 2nd and Waldron 3rd.
Cleal, who also won the Veteran sub-class again on Zero points, with Vickery and Waldron sharing 2nd place with 6 points. In the regional results, Cleal wins from Vickery and Waldron.
David Goode racing his new Mac Kart for the first time took the win in the Blue Legend section, 2nd was Chris Underhill on 5 points from Ron Shone with 7 points. It is Underhill, however, who wins the Championship from Robin Stoddart-Stones and Goode.
Tom Parker, enjoying a fabulous Championship, took 1st place on the day in the Top Weight section with Zero points. Ron Shone and John Hartshorne claimed equal 2nd on 5 points. Parker wins the Championship from Shone and Ben Joseph.
The Blue grid now has 8 weeks before the Grande Finals, to be held at Forest Edge on September 4th. Many of the competitors will, however, take advantage of the 2 Counties Club Championship race scheduled for August 7th, also at the Forest Edge Circuit.
