CLEAL WINS PENULTIMATE 2 COUNTIES ROUND, BUT O’NEILL MAINTAINS THE LEAD

Anthony Cleal gained Pole position in the penultimate 2 Counties race meeting at Mansell Raceway on 25th October. He duly converted this into the victory. Russell O’Neill ended the day in 2nd spot with an opposite Pole start and 3rd place finish. Returnee, Sam Dible claimed 3rd place overall with a 6th place start and 2nd place at the chequered flag. 4th on the day was Serita Shone with a 4th start and 4th finish. Bringing up the top 5 was Mike Bell scoring 0 points from a 3rd grid place and a 6th place finish.

Overall, in the Club Championships Russell O’Neil increased his lead over Mike Bell to 10 points. Paul Alexander and David Waldron share 3rd place with Paul Dible in 5th spot.
Russell also heads the Master sub-class from Alexander and Waldron.
It is Alexander who fronts the Veteran group from Waldron and Paul Dible.
A Pole to flag win for David Goode allowed him to extend his lead in the Legend section. He is followed by Kevin O’Neill and Ron Shone.
The Top Weights are headed by Paul Dible with Ron Shone in 2nd and Mike Watts in 3rd.
A ‘lonely’ Freddi Baker leads the Cadet Honda class.

The 2 Counties Championship culminates at the Clay Pigeon Raceway, which hosts the Final Round on November 8th along with the Matthew Percy Memorial Race for the Formula Blue Class.

O’Neill forges ahead in the TABOR Championship

With one round to go Russell O’Neill now has a virtually unassailable lead in the TABOR Championship. The penultimate round, held at Mansell Raceway, saw him take the win from Serita shone, with Anthony Cleal 3rd and David Goode 4th.
The final round of the season is scheduled for November 8th at the Clay Pigeon Raceway.

ENTRIES FOR CLAY PIGEON ON 8th NOVEMBER

Competitors are advised that entries are open for the 2 Counties Championship round 4, and the Matthew Percy Memorial Trophy Race for Formula Blue, at the Clay Pigeon Raceway on 8th November.
There will be practice, for those who wish it, on Friday and Saturday the 6th and 7th November.
The Sunday race is entered for on the Clay Pigeon Club website. The link for entries is at the foot of this news brief.
The entry list for Formula Blue will close at midnight, on Saturday 31st October. Late entries may be accepted, however, if accepted, they will be placed at the back of the grid for all heats. All entrants must be members of the 2 Counties Club, prior to the closing date.

TYRES & SPARES FOR MANSELL RACEWAY ON 24th & 25th October

Tabor Karting will be in attendance, as usual, with their mobile shop at the Mansell Raceway on the 24th & 25th October for the Club meeting including the 2 Counties Championship round 3
Competitors requiring Tyres/spares for all classes, for this event, please order and purchase your requirements in advance by Wednesday 21st October.

FORMULA BLUE SEEDING FOR 2020/21 DECIDED!

Following the Grande Finals at Clay Pigeon on October 11th the second set of results, which make up the seeding process, are now known.

The BLUE Challenge positions are added together with the Grande Final Results to make up the new ranking order.

Anthony Cleal, the reigning Number 1, retains his title. Behind him, Serita Shone continues her rise, this time from last year’s No.4 to the new No. 2.

Russell O’Neil rises three places from No. 6 to No. 3
Mike Bell gains a place and is now No. 4

The new seeded numbers are in use with immediate effect (conditional to the 7 day protest window over the Grande Final)

POINTS POSITIONS & RESULTS FROM NKRA GRANDE FINALS

Once all the points from the NKRA Grande Finals were collated, it was Anthony Cleal who emerged as the NKRA overall Champion, from Dave Watts who was last year’s winner. Serita Shone finished third, with Stuart Gray 4th, and Russell O’Neill 5th.

RUSSELL O’NEILL EXTENDS HIS LEAD

Russell O’Neill, by virtue of his win at the NKRA Grande Finals, extends his lead in the TABOR Championship.
With only two meetings to go until the end of the season, the prize of £ 500 is now tantalisingly close for O’Neill.
Serita Shone, second on the day, shapes up her second overall place with Anthony Cleal and Mike Bell on her heels. The main mover in the prize fund group is David Waldron, who displaces Ron Shone and Kevin O’Neill for the £ 100 available for 5th place.
The penultimate round takes place at the Mansell Circuit on October 25th.
