JUNIOR BLUE
A clean sheet in the heats gave Jake Calvert Pole for the Final. Alongside him sat Taylor Waldron with Mitchell McLeod and Luke Lattimer on row 2. Problems for Calvert arose on the dummy grid as his engine failed to start and he used the external starter. This would later affect his end results as he has already used the starter earlier in a heat. From the off Calvert raced away into the lead, Waldron stayed with him for a while until after a mistake he slipped back into the clutches of Lattimer. After many laps of trying to find a way past, Lattimer eventually succeeded. At the flag it was Calvert from Lattimer and Waldron. After post race scrutineering Calvert was excluded for a second use of the external starter , thus promoting Lattimer to the win. Continue reading →

NKRA Championship Bulletin re. Scottish Region.
17.04.15The NKRA Championship stewards have decided on an issue of changed dates, involving the West of Scotland Kart Club. The findings are as follows. West of Scotland changed 2 of their club dates after accepting a series of dates from the NKRA for their Scottish Regional Championship. Notification of these date changes were presented late and in the case of the March 15th meeting one competitor was compromised having an alternative commitment. The stewards find that in the classes not affected, the results will stand as published.
In the case of Formula Blue the first round as originally published will become null and void.
The round, originally scheduled for 17th May, will now take place on 7th June at the Summerlee circuit. Championship scoring for all classes, except Formula Blue will remain as before namely 4 from 5 rounds. Formula Blue, however, will now score 3 from 4 rounds in the Regional Championship and 5 from 6 rounds in the Challenge.
Published 2pm Friday 17th April.

14.04.15Chris Derrick was back to his winning ways with a pole to flag win from Sam Dible. 3rd was the round two winner Ian Branfield. Kaite Crowther, having dropped one heat drove well to finish 6th from a grid 10 start. Race of the day went to Robin Stoddart-Stones, who, after failing to finish in any of the heats, started absolutely last in the Final. Having worked his way past some of the field he pushed too hard and spun, re-starting he managed to pass them again accounting for 10 drivers to finish in 7th place. The crowd witnessed a fantastic Final in the Junior Blue class. ‘0’ plate winner Jake Calvert, Reigning no. 1 plate Luke Lattimer, plus no. 3 plate Taylor Waldron treated those watching to a spectacle of racing at the highest level. Calvert led for all bar two laps when Waldron, despite being under constant pressure from Lattimer, slid inside going into ‘Billy’s’ corner. The three of them finishing the race within 0.33 seconds of each other.
