ENTRIES FOR THE MIDLAND CHAMPS ARE NOW OPEN
15.09.17Following on from our fantastic showing in the S & B Automotive Academy Formula Blue Challenge at Little Rissington earlier this year. Formula Blue has been selected for inclusion in the Midland Championships. This is a great time for the ‘Blue Brigade’ to continue to make its mark at Little Rissington and also enjoy the level of competition afforded by one of England’s most established one weekend Championships. The format will be a 2-day race meeting with separate Heats and Finals on both Saturday and Sunday with a 1 set of tyres rule to cover both days.
For Formula Blue competitors, who will not be overstretched by racing the following week in the Two Counties round at Forest Edge, it is a great opportunity to enjoy a 2-day meeting ( 8 races overall) and help establish the class at Little Rissington in anticipation of rounds there next year.
N.B. The purchase of new tyres is not compulsory nor is attendance on the Friday practice day.

VAUGHAN & McLEOD TAKE THE LEAD IN THE TWO COUNTIES CLUB CHAMPS
12.09.17Round 3 of the Two Counties Club Championships, held at the Clay Pigeon Raceway on Sept 10th, saw the best rise to the top. The weather threw everything it could at the competitors, where slicks, intermediates , and full wets were required during the race day programme. The Formula Blue final itself was wet and the racing at the front was so close that the first three shared the claim to fastest lap or fastest sector. In the end, it was Duncan McLeod who snatched the lead on lap three and held it to the end with Anthony Cleal half a second behind. McLeod junior, Mitch, finished 3rd.
Duncan McLeod also leads the Master and Veteran group from Ron Shone and Rob Mortimore. Shone, however, heads the Legend sections from David Goode and Kevin O’Neill. In the top weight sub-class, Duncan McLeod again tops the group, perhaps confirming that he is that driver to be reckoned with this year !

In the Cadet class, Charlie Vaughan had a faultless day with a lights to flag win to take the lead in the Championship. Joshua Wittington-Couch and Cameron Ross shared the days’ points, but it is Wittington-Couch who holds 2nd overall spot from Thomas Cucurello Yeomans.
The next Two counties race (Round 4) moves on to Forest Edge on the 1st of October.

FORMULA BLUE RANKINGS DECIDED FOLLOWING NKRA GRANDE FINALS
29.08.17Once the dust had settled, Ian Branfield emerged top of the Formula Blue ranking order after the NKRA Grande Finals at Mansell Raceway on the 26th and 27th August. Everything came down to the actual final of the day. If Duncan McLeod, who had already gained pole position, won, then the No 1 was his. From the lights, he shot into the lead, which he gradually increased until lap 7, when he inexplicably pulled off and went back to the pits. Ian Branfield took full advantage and raced on to the win followed by Anth Cleal, who eventually finished 4th in the ranking order. It was Kevin Ford, however, who claimed 2nd overall, once the S & B Automotive Academy scores were added to the total, with Mitch McLeod taking 3rd place. New boys, on the block, were Ryan Edgecumbe who is now ranked 9th, Taylor Waldron ranked 11th, Jake Calvert 13th, Robert Dudley 15th and father, Graham, in 16th. Ben Pearson, after a late start in the season, claimed the 17th spot with Hanna McLeod, despite a hiccup in the Final, taking 18th.
The Formula Blue entourage now moves on to Clay Pigeon for the Gold Rush on 11th September ( which is also the Cancer Research Charity fund raising day) where the new numbers will be on display.

Edward Leader & Ian Branfield winners of the 2017 NKRA Grande Finals at Mansell Raceway.
28.08.17Ed Leader, by virtue of pole position and win in the Final, overcame the small deficit of non-attendance points accrued earlier in the year, to win the Cadet Honda Grande Finals. Second overall was Charlie Vaughan.
In the Formula Blue class, it was Ian Branfield who, from opposite Pole, came through to win after the surprise withdrawal (in lap 6) of Duncan McLeod, who was clearly in the lead.
Second overall was Anthony Cleal having started from grid 3, with Kevin Ford recovering well from a poor performance in the heats, to finish in third place.
