CALVERT TAKES THE FINAL BUT McLEOD WINS THE DAY – S & B AUTOMOTIVE ACADEMY CHAMPS – ROUND 6

Despite qualifying 3rd for the Final of the S & B Automotive Academy Blue Challenge,  Jake Calvert put in a flawless performance to snatch the lead from Duncan McLeod and race on to the eventual win.  McLeod finished on Calvert’s rear bumper at the flag, which, with 2 points, gave the overall win by the narrowest of margins over Calvert.  3rd on the day was Ben Pearson with a 5th place grid start and 3rd over the finish line.  This result sees Calvert climb up the standings from 6th to 3rd.  He now sets his sights on Mitch McLeod, who is currently 2nd in the driver standings.  It is still Duncan McLoed who sits firmly at the top !
In the Master and Veteran sub-classes it is Duncan McLeod who is, again,  in firm control of the standings.  His pole to flag win allows him to extend his lead over Anth Cleal.  3rd place is now taken up by Paul Dible from Rob Mortimore.
In the Legend sections, David Goode and Ron shone shared the points available.  This means that Goode maintains his 4 point lead over Shone with 2 meeting to go.
The Top Weight group finds Duncan McLeod extending his lead over son Mitch.  Ben Pearson has closed in on Mitch and also has 2 meetings left to overhaul a 4 point deficit.
The penultimate round takes place on July 8th at Clay Pigeon.
