IAN BRANFIELD WINS OPENING ROUND OF THE S & B AUTOMOTIVE ACADEMY SOUTHERN BLUE CHALLENGE AT LLANDOW
A dominant win from grid 2 gave Ian Branfield a deserved lead at the start of this year’s Championship. Equal 2nd were Matt Parr and Chris Derrick on 8 points.
Branfield also heads the Top Weight group from Duncan McLeod. The Master section has Derrick narrowly in front of Kevin Ford, though it is Ford who leads the Veteran group from McLeod. Nigel Pritchard, travelling down from Burnley, was rewarded with the lead in the Legend section from Ron Shone.
In the Junior Blue class Jake Calvert claimed the overall win, helped by the exclusion of race winners Mitchell McLeod and Taylor Waldron on a side pod width technicality at post race scrutineering. The actual race Winner, Thomas Massarella finished 2nd overall.
Round 2 of the S & B Automotive Academy Formula Blue Challenge takes place at Mansell Raceway on March 29th.
